Tabitha lives with her mother and three brothers in a one-room sheet metal house which they rent. The family has one bed that is shared by three people and the two older children sleep on the floor. They get water from a borehole and the bathroom facility is in bad condition.
Tabitha’s father abandoned the family so her mother is the sole provider working as a fruit vendor. It is very difficult for her to feed, clothe, and educate the children; they wear tattered clothing and shoes, and spend most of the time at home due to lack of school fees.
Tabitha's brother, Geoffrey, is also in the Mama Beth program.
