Most importantly, by choosing to sponsor your child, you’re helping them discover their true worth and God-given purpose for their life. You can’t put a price tag on that!
We don’t always hear from the children about how sponsorship has changed their lives: Often, they’re shy, embarrassed, or can’t find the words to express their gratitude. But sometimes, we are blessed to get a glimpse into their heart and thoughts. Below is a section of a letter that a sponsor recently received from Allan in Uganda:
“You have been an immense source of strength and courage for me during this tough phase. I cannot thank you enough for ensuring I finish my education without any hurdles. Being a part of a college was just a dream for me until you entered my life. I am the only person in my family to get such an opportunity. None of this would have been possible without your constant support and guidance. I shall forever be grateful to you.”

Alvis lives with his mother, two brothers and a sister in a rented three-room, wood house with a cement floor. The home has no electricity and the family uses a lantern for light. Water is drawn from a well that is boiled for drinking. The family has an outdoor kitchen and use firewood for cooking. They also have an outdoor bathroom facility with a pit latrine that is in good condition.
Alvis is the youngest child in the family. His mother is a single parent after his father abandoned the family. She works as a casual laborer when she can find jobs, but relies a lot on the help of neighbors.
