Ever wonder if you’re really making an impact in the life of the child you sponsor?
The very fact that your child knows you chose them shows them they are special and that they matter. They know they’re important to you and also to God, you may even be an answer to their prayers.
You’re providing holistic care for your child. This includes education, nutritious meals, spiritual mentorship, health care, tutoring and school tuition, health care, and safe drinking water!
You’re also making an impact on their family. Parents have peace of mind because of you, knowing they’re supported, and their child has their basic needs met. And all of this happens just because you said yes to sponsoring.
Beyond meeting their critical needs, you have the opportunity to build a priceless personal relationship with your child. You can get to know each other more by writing letters, sending video messages, and visiting them on a mission trip.
Most importantly, by choosing to sponsor your child, you’re helping them discover their true worth and God-given purpose for their life. You can’t put a price tag on that!
We don’t always hear from the children about how sponsorship has changed their lives: Often, they’re shy, embarrassed, or can’t find the words to express their gratitude. But sometimes, we are blessed to get a glimpse into their heart and thoughts. Below is a section of a letter that a sponsor recently received from Allan in Uganda:
“You have been an immense source of strength and courage for me during this tough phase. I cannot thank you enough for ensuring I finish my education without any hurdles. Being a part of a college was just a dream for me until you entered my life. I am the only person in my family to get such an opportunity. None of this would have been possible without your constant support and guidance. I shall forever be grateful to you.”
Be encouraged! Your sponsorship IS making a difference! Children and families are being given hope for their futures. God is using you to change a child’s life, which then impacts those around them. Hawa lives with her parents and 6 siblings in a three-bedroom mud house with a thatch roof. They have to purchase electricity but it often runs out before they can buy more. They have no latrine and no access to potable water. They fetch water from a village dam until it dries up, and then the village women must travel long distances to find other sources.
Hawa comes from a Muslim family but she and her mother have accepted Christ. Her father is unemployed due to health issues and her mother sells rice during farming season. Once the season is over, it become very difficult to support the family. Before Create Hope, Hawa worried that she might have to drop out of school.
