Am I Making a Difference?

Ever wonder if you’re really making an impact in the life of the child you sponsor?

The very fact that your child knows you chose them shows them they are special and that they matter. They know they’re important to you and also to God, you may even be an answer to their prayers.

Impacting Generations with Holistic Care

You’re providing holistic care for your child. This includes education, nutritious meals, spiritual mentorship, health care, tutoring and school tuition, health care, and safe drinking water!

You’re also making an impact on their family. Parents have peace of mind because of you, knowing they’re supported, and their child has their basic needs met. And all of this happens just because you said yes to sponsoring.

A Relationship and Hope

Beyond meeting their critical needs, you have the opportunity to build a priceless personal relationship with your child. You can get to know each other more by writing letters, sending video messages, and visiting them on a mission trip.

Most importantly, by choosing to sponsor your child, you’re helping them discover their true worth and God-given purpose for their life. You can’t put a price tag on that!

Words from a Child

We don’t always hear from the children about how sponsorship has changed their lives: Often, they’re shy, embarrassed, or can’t find the words to express their gratitude. But sometimes, we are blessed to get a glimpse into their heart and thoughts. Below is a section of a letter that a sponsor recently received from Allan in Uganda:

“You have been an immense source of strength and courage for me during this tough phase. I cannot thank you enough for ensuring I finish my education without any hurdles. Being a part of a college was just a dream for me until you entered my life. I am the only person in my family to get such an opportunity. None of this would have been possible without your constant support and guidance. I shall forever be grateful to you.”

Thank you!

Be encouraged! Your sponsorship IS making a difference! Children and families are being given hope for their futures. God is using you to change a child’s life, which then impacts those around them. You may not hear directly from your child of their gratitude and the impact you’ve made, but know that you are a gift. We at Forward Edge are so thankful for you. Words are hard to find to fully express how blessed we are to partner with you as God uses us to change lives for eternity.

So in case you ever wonder… Yes, you are making a significant impact in the life of the child you sponsor just by saying yes to choosing them.

Transform a Child's Life Through Sponsorship

Ka wula (hello), my name is Hawa Wunimi

  • location

    Ghana

  • 12 yrs. old

    06-01-2013

Entered the program: November 2025

Hawa lives with her mother and 3 siblings in one room of a rental house. The home is constructed of cement blocks, roofed with aluminum and has a concrete floor. They cook outdoors with wood and share a latrine with the other tenants.

Hawa’s mother is a single parent. She is unemployed and relies on assistance from other people to take care of herself and her children. They sometimes have only one meal a day. Hawa’s father abandoned the family, re-married, and moved to a another community. He doesn’t support his children, and meeting their needs, especially educational, is very challenging. On several occasions, Hawa has been sent home for non-payment of fees. She often does not have food to take to school. Hawa’s performance is affected due to the lack of textbooks for studying.

Sponsorship Level What's this?

Three $38 sponsorships are needed to cover the complete holistic care of one child. Cover one, two, or three sponsorships.
