Heavy rains and a landslide have swept through Kijabe, Kenya near our children’s program, taking lives and destroying more than 100 homes. Your gift today will assist families in most need and help restore our program’s preschool building damaged by the rain.
Over the past month, heavy rains across Kenya have caused severe flooding and landslides killing at least 181 people.
Early Monday morning, the devastation reached our Mama Beth Children’s Program in Kijabe.
A landslide came through the community in the middle of the night wiping out more than 100 homes. Many people in the area are still missing, but we thank God none of them are children or families in our program.
The heavy rains have also severely damaged our preschool building at the Mama Beth program. Walls and floors have been damaged by flooding, and our team is scrambling to strengthen their protection against ongoing downpours still in the forecast.
Please join us in prayer for the Kijabe community and for our program. Pray for the rains, flooding, and landslides to stop, for protection, and for comfort and provision for those experiencing loss.
Please also consider a generous gift to help these local families and our program rebuild after the clouds part.
Your gift today will give our program the resources they need to assist families in most need and restore the preschool building damaged by the rain.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and generous support!
