Bringing hope and love to vulnerable children and their families living in extreme poverty in northern Ghana.
You can donate stocks and crypto to save on taxes while transforming the lives of vulnerable children around the world.
Donating stocks and cryptocurrency is a non-taxable event, meaning you do not owe capital gains tax on the appreciated amount and can deduct it on your taxes. This makes stocks, Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrency donations one of the most tax-efficient ways to support Forward Edge. We accept over 60 different cryptocurrencies, listed below in our FAQ.
When you donate stocks or crypto we immediately convert your donation to fiat, which means all donations are non-refundable. Please only send the exact cryptocurrency listed on the blockchain mentioned on the right. Do not send any other cryptocurrencies (including layer 2, wrapped tokens, NFTs or other ERC-20 tokens not listed) as these are unsupported and may result in loss of donation.
You can generate a wallet address by using our widget above.
Once you reach the third page, the widget will generate a dynamic wallet address you can use to complete your donation.
In order to receive a receipt with your donation, you must enter your email when prompted to in our donation block above. You will automatically receive a receipt from receipts@thegivingblock.com as soon as the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain. This changes depending on the blockchain – you can refer to this guide for estimates and more information. Please note that you will receive a receipt every time you donate with our wallet address to the receipt you enter when generating the address.
Whenever you cash out your appreciated stocks, you have to pay capital gains tax. However, if you donate some of them directly to Forward Edge, that full amount is eligible for a tax deduction, and you’re also now left with a smaller capital gains liability. This savvy technique allows you to give more and save in two ways on your taxes!
For some, giving stock can seem confusing and complicated. The good news is we have people ready to guide you through the process to make it much easier.
Contact our Controller, Tim Jones, for questions or to donate stock: timjones@forwardedge.org or (360) 558-5893.
If you’re planning on giving to Forward Edge again in the future, and you own stocks, I encourage you to check out this tax-savvy option. It’s a great way to reap secondary benefits while you continue blessing others in Jesus’ name.
